Even though the land is not peaceful, we already have the daily publication of Igede Proverb of the Day on ground before the condemnable evil done on our traditional ruler, Chief Okpe of Ochoro Community in Igede land. The news is such a bad one that has contaminated our ear and subjected us to unbearable pains.

The Igede people across the globe are pained over the Incessant killings of their kinsmen in Ochoro and Ukpute Community in Oju local government area of Benue State. Nevertheless, we have a proverb before us which reads as follows.

The English translation of the Proverb ?
If the eye has an injury, the nose drips water
This is an Igede proverb that preaches brother keeper. If the eye suffers an injury, the nose feels it too. You will notice that the nose will be dripping water profusely. So, if people are bound together by relationship of whatever kind, love Should radiate within them to the extent that they will feel each other’s pains.
This proverb of today is calling on all Igede people to come out and support their kinsmen being killed by the militias in Bonta part of Benue. The killings which has been on since last year, is worrisome as the people have refused to cease fire and sheath their swords. Igede People are therefore enjoin to fight this common enemy in one accord as the injury of the eyes is really making the nose to drip water. Igede Ihyoo!!!
