The concern of His Excellency, Dr Samuel Ortom to restore peace among the border communities of Ukpute and Bonta in Oju and Konshisha respectively, today he deployed Security Agents to the border corridor for peace keeping and to allow for human and vehicular movement along Oju Awajir road.

Recall that His Excellency on a Security/Stakeholders’ Tour of Bonta and Ukpute on the 20th of September, 2021 directed immediate deployment of Security Agents to the border corridor for the maintenance of peace, and in fulfilment of that deployed combined security agents comprising of the Police, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC) and DSS headed by ASP Chris Adaji.

The Governor who was ably represented by his Security Adviser, Col Paul Hemba handed over the Combined Security Agents to the Executive Chairmen of Oju and Konshisha, Hon. Clement Onaa and Hon. James Jirgba respectively with the Traditional Rulers, Youths and other Stakeholders of both Oju and Konshisha Local Government Areas.

The Chairmen and Traditional Rulers with Representatives of the Youths of Oju and Konshisha Local Government Areas thanked the Governor for not reneging on promises and pledged their cooperation with the security agents for peaceful coexistence.
